Carl Goodfriend – Chief Information Officer
Carl Goodfriend has nearly 40 years of experience working in senior living. Carl serves a dual role as CIO for ProviNET Solutions and Providence Life Services. As the senior-most officer for ProviNET Solutions, Carl is tasked with maintaining ProviNET’s vision, mission and core values through every aspect of leadership and day-to-day operations.
Carl has a deep appreciation for collaboration and promotes a strong team mentality internally, allowing the organization to accomplish incredible goals and objectives by bringing the talent of the entire organization together. One of Carl’s favorite quotes is “I would rather have one percent of 100 people’s effort than 100 percent of one person’s effort” (Andrew Carnegie).
Carl lends his own knowledge and skill by participating in several industry trade groups and advisory boards as well as participating in associations on a state and national level to promote the use of telehealth and electronic health information systems.
Joe Velderman, MCP – Director of Consulting Services
Joe Velderman joined ProviNET Solutions in 2006 after beginning his professional career at one of the largest human resources consulting firms in the world. Joe gained experience in senior living and LTPAC quickly. He has served virtual Chief Information Officer for several multi-site organizations, leading them through core enterprise software implementations, infrastructure improvements, and governance establishment.
Joe is very passionate about technology, viewing technical tools as a means of increasing efficiency and improving intelligence. He understands that technology needs to be effective, and if it is not, users will go back to using pen and paper. Joe continues to work directly with ProviNET customers to help them establish technology strategies, assist in IT governance, and mentor other technology leaders.
Joe regularly contributes thought leadership, speaking at state and national trade associations, contributing to white papers, and leading ProviNET educational webinars.
Tom Donovan – Director of Technology
Tom Donovan started his IT career in the late 90s, building and breaking Microsoft and Novell systems and blazing networks at 10BASE2 speeds. He has had the privilege to witness and live out the rapid growth of the technology sector within business and personal life. Tom has served in technical roles of in-house technician, field technician, helpdesk, system engineering, and executive leadership.
Tom has been with ProviNET Solutions for 3 year, serving as first as a solutions architect and now as the Director of Technology, overseeing the technical teams of engineering, field technicians, and network and communications. He is heavily involved in the vision and strategy of our go-to-market technical services and is constantly evaluating new technology solutions and trends. While he loves technology, he is even more passionate about seeing technology being used to benefit others. There is nothing more satisfying for him than seeing ProviNET implement solutions for organizations that help them gain efficiencies and other advantages.
Mark Nunnikhoven – Director of Client Care
Mark Nunnikhoven is the Director of Client Relations and works closely with both the Client Care team and many of ProviNET’s clients to ensure their needs are met and that our services are beyond satisfactory.
Mark began his career with ProviNET in 2007 and spends the majority of his time collaborating on larger implementation projects both pre- and post-sale, as well as quoting and negotiating new growth opportunities. During his tenure, Mark has played a significant role in developing and nurturing the Sales and Account Management divisions of ProviNET.
Mark is passionate about preserving the integrity of ProviNET and helping each of ProviNET’s clients implement the products and services they need to continue to be successful. Mark possesses the ability to easily communicate and explain technical details, helping to ensure that clients both understand and are comfortable with each of ProviNET’s offered services.
Mark holds degrees in Sociology and Psychology from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois.
Sue Koldenhoven, R.N. – Director of Software Services
Sue Koldenhoven serves as the Director of Software Services at ProviNET and oversees both the project and support services for the software services team. Sue has a long history in the healthcare industry as a nurse specialist and has been involved with informatics around EMRs since 2008. She has expertise in selecting EMR software based on unique customer needs, implementing EMR software, providing operations guidance to customers, and managing ongoing software support. Sue has a highly regarded reputation for conducting clinical application optimizations providing analysis of current set-up and use and making recommendations for improvements to maximize data input and output.
Sue has been in the healthcare industry serving as a clinician for over 25 years and has a competitive understanding of the field and how to improve the day-to-day operations of our customers through the use of professionally selected technology. Sue obtained her Informatics Nurse Certificate in 2013 and she has experience in skilled nursing, home health and hospice, and pharmacies, and served as an Assisted Living Director in the past. Sue has been intimately involved with numerous EMR implementations and is highly regarded in the nursing informatics arena.
Scott Sweeney – Director of Support Services
Scott brings energy, enthusiasm, and 17 years of IT experience to ProviNET Solutions with a proven track record around service delivery. Scott was instrumental in developing the practical processes behind the ProviNET 24×7 Service Desk, and he continues to strive to find the correct balance between robust support and the personal, friendly customer service that ProviNET Solutions is known for.
Scott has a passion for technology, which is evident by his numerous technical certifications. Scott is a nine-time Microsoft Certified Professional and carries certifications in Healthcare IT and ITIL ITSM service delivery. Scott has focused his entire career on IT customer service, working for a large pharmaceutical company before joining the ProviNET team in 2014.
