The Educational Institute was developed by Providence, which also manages the place of learning. The Educational Institute at Providence helps serve the senior population by training all Providence employees and by hosting assorted seminars and presentations related to the long-term care field.
One of the foundations for Providence is employee education. Wanting to educate its employees better, Rest Haven teamed with Providence to create a state of the art learning center. Such an institution isn’t yet the commonplace in the retirement industry, but for a pioneering not-for-profit family such as Rest Haven, it was the next step toward fulfilling its obligation toward serving the sick and elderly.

This multi-million dollar project was established in pure Calvinistic fashion and is considered the ultimate catalyst for quality at Providence/Rest Haven. Concepts first were discussed in July 2000, ground was broke in September 2001 and the Institute officially opened its doors in September 2002.
Instructors utilize four classrooms of various sizes and a computer lab while incorporating innovative overhead projectors and screens, interactive presentations, and a computer lab into their teachings. Seminars and classes focus with the resident in mind.
Providence has created an environment that encourages staff to share their faith, thus inspiring one another to achieve their goals. Classrooms can accommodate groups as small as 12 and as large as 75 comfortably. Our computer lab features 16 terminals and one of our classrooms has been designed for clinical training and features a variety of specialized, clinical tools.
